The rail industry is witnessing an increase in female representation, but there is still significant work to be done to attract, retain, and advance women in rail, contributing to greater gender diversity. According to the latest report from the ARA, women currently comprise only 24 percent of the industry's workforce. This underscores the need for continued efforts to improve gender participation in the field. If we maintain the current rate of progress, gender parity may not be achieved until 2049.

Research consistently demonstrates that workplace diversity drives improved productivity, performance, innovation, and the development of better solutions.

Drawing from our experience  in the rail industry, whilst we have observed some changes been implemented, they often appear to serve the purpose of meeting specific KPIs required to secure contracts, rather than addressing the gender bias that still exists in the industry.
